I am a hardworking, organised and motivated Councillor with a passion for politics, human rights and equality. I have an outgoing and friendly personality; I enjoy meeting new people and making a real difference in people’s lives. As an elected Councillor for the Warley ward in Sandwell, I am currently representing more than two thousand people at a local level, and I am currently working on a daily basis to address their needs, complaints and problems.

Work experience

Main duties performed:

  • Representing a Ward boundary of around two thousand constituents
  • Working with others to improve the safety and quality of life of residents
  • Liaising with local officers to tackle issues affecting the community, such as housing, social services, schools, the environment and transport
  • Paying attention to the needs of vulnerable members of our community
  • Dealing with residents, companies and other partners of the Council
  • Dealing with resident casework, public enquiries and solving their problems
  • Writing letters to support constituents’ needs
  • Visiting residents on request and acting upon their requests and demands
  • Chairing focus group meetings between Council representatives and the public
  • Facilitating meetings between officials and residents
  • Supporting and attending local events and holding monthly surgeries for residents

Hobbies and interests
