Dear Mr Kent,

Re: Civil Engineer (Vacancy Ref 20128)

I am responding to your job vacancy posting on monster.co.uk for a Civil Engineer, and I wish to be considered for this position.

I am currently working as a Civil Engineer at Midland’s Buildings Ltd., where I am responsible for designing, planning and managing construction projects including railways, roads, bridges and small- and medium-sized commercial buildings. My work experience has not only significantly improved my technical skills, but it has also improved my interpersonal, leadership and negotiation skills. I can lead and motivate a group of construction professionals in order to achieve certain results, and professionally resolve conflicts.

Previously, I studied BEng Civil Engineering at Kingston University London from where I graduated in 2015 with a 2:1 Honours degree. My formal education has fully prepared me to work in the industry and make a significant contribution to my employer.

I am meticulous, driven and enjoy working on complex and challenging projects. Having researched your company, I am convinced that working for you will allow me to utilise all my technical skills and abilities and contribute to the success of your organisation.

I have attached my CV and supporting documents with this covering letter. I very much hope that you will agree that I am a perfect match for this role and that you will invite me to an interview. Thank you for your time!

Yours sincerely,
