Dear Mr Simpson,

Re: Policy Advisor (Ref: JJ934)

Your advertisement for the above vacancy captured my attention, and I wish to be considered for this position.

I graduated in 2016 with a 2:1 degree in BSc Politics and International Relations from the University of Birmingham. Some of the relevant modules that I studied include Understanding Politics, Introduction to International Relations Theory, Policy, and British Politics. My studies have given me a great insight into how government policies are initiated, formulated and passed into law. I have also worked as a voluntary Policy Assistant Officer at a local pressure group for the past three months, where I participated in meetings with various stakeholders and government officials.

My greatest passion in life is to make a positive difference in society, hence the reason for studying politics at the University. I enjoy keeping myself up to date with the latest developments in current affairs. I am an organised, punctual, and hardworking individual who can deal with a heavy workload and is willing to work overtime when required.

I firmly believe that my excellent writing and interpersonal skills, combined with my ability to conduct complex negotiations, put me in a great position to work as a Policy Advisor at LP Sanders Consultancy.

I hope that my attached CV further demonstrates that I am the ideal candidate for this role, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for considering me for this position. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you require any additional information.

Yours sincerely,
