Head of HR
Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO)

Dear Mr Clarkson,

Re: Diplomat (REF: JKI424)

The Diplomat position at FCO caught my eye, and after reading the full specification and job requirements, I became excited when I discovered that – based on my past work experience and background – I would be the ideal candidate for this role.

I am currently working as a Policy Support Worker at the FCO, responsible for working with a variety of government officials to promote the UK’s interests abroad. My key responsibilities include; advising civil servants on trade, security and investment opportunities abroad, proposing new policies, analysing foreign investment budgets, and producing and presenting reports to diplomats and ministers.

I graduated in 2015 from the University of Essex with a 2:1 degree in Public Services, something which has given me a great insight into UK politics and providing public service. I have excellent leadership and communication skills, both written and verbal. I am courteous and polite in all my dealings, and I possess excellent diplomacy and negotiation skills.

I hope that my application and attached CV will clearly demonstrate my wealth of experience in public service and my suitability for this role. Should you have any questions or require any additional information, please do not hesitate to get in touch on 0782 992 7749 at any time of your convenience. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Yours sincerely,
