Dear Mr Mills,
Re: Assistant/Trainee Ecologist (REF-22J4)
I recently came across the Assistant/ Trainee Ecologist vacancy on your company’s website, and I am more than ready to join your reputable company and contribute towards its success.
I have a first-class honours degree in BSc Biology from the University of Kent. My thesis was entitled “Identifying the key behaviours of glass frog in the Amazon rainforest”, for which I received a distinction grade. Since graduating in 2016, I have been working for the past year with a local environmental and conservation organisation and have conducted a number of surveys to identify, record and monitor various species and their habitats.
From my student years, I have gained excellent communication, research and presentation skills. I am also competent in using specialist computer software to record, analyse and present data and records. I always had a fascination for animals, plants and our environment. Seeing and having the possibility of discovering new species or new living organisms motivates and drives me to work harder. I am enthusiastic about undertaking fieldwork, even in harsh conditions. Through my past education and work experience, I have learned team working and project management skills, as well as survey techniques and identification keys.
I am particularly interested in working at JC Ecology Ltd. because of your company’s practical and outward-looking approach to dealing with the environment and solving some of nature’s greatest mysteries. I wish to utilise all my knowledge and skills to contribute to your organisation’s success and make a positive change in the world.
Thank you for taking the time for reading through and considering my application. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any enquiries about my application, or wish to arrange a suitable time for an interview.
Yours sincerely,
