I am writing in reference to the above vacancy which was recently advertised on the Sandwell Council’s website. I wish to be considered for this position as my previous work experience in this field makes me a strong candidate for this post.
I graduated in 2014 with a 1:1 Honours degree in Environmental Science from the University of Birmingham. In 2015, I completed my master’s degree in MSc Earth Sciences from the University of London. I have experience of collecting samples, analysing data and presenting recommendations. My extensive education has given me a comprehensive understanding of the environmental challenges that the Council faces in particular and the country in general.
I am currently working as Senior Environment Officer for Loughborough Council, where I have been working for the past three years in similar roles. My contribution has changed some of the Council’s policies regarding waste management, health and safety, and the protection of wildlife in urban areas. I have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and I have the ability to explain complex ideas to a non-technical audience.
I have lived in Sandwell for most of my life, and having the opportunity to make a positive difference in my local community would be an honour and privilege.
